Welcome to the 2025 Sankofa Film Institute’s "Around the Fire”, Immersion Workshop, to be held from January 12, 2025, to February 22, 2025! To ensure that every workshop participant has a productive, enjoyable, and respectful experience, we require that you adhere to the guidelines detailed below. 1. Participants will attend all workshop sessions. The vast majority of sessions will be held in-person. The Participant acknowledges and understands that the 2. Workshop is a full-time commitment. The Participant agrees to arrive to all classes promptly for the duration of the six-week program. 2. If a workshop participant has an emergency that impacts their attendance, they will contact their workshop instructor and/or any film crew members that are scheduled to work with the workshop participant. 3. Workshop assignments must be completed by the stated deadline. 4. Workshop participants will conduct themselves in a professional manner, including by making every effort to be courteous to fellow participants, staff and instructors, showing respect and consideration to all. 5. Workshop participants are required to respect and make every effort to avoid damaging property on any and all film production locations. 6. Workshop participants will handle the film/video equipment with care at all times. 8. I understand that my performance will be evaluated at the end of every week. If a workshop participant is found to be non-compliant with any two items in the code of conduct, the participant may be placed on probation. A third violation is the basis to be removed from the program. If a single violation is found to be egregious the Workshop participants will be immediately dismissed from the Workshop. 9. Workshop participants will make every effort to contribute to a productive learning environment. Participant conduct that is found to disrupt the learning environment, especially where the conduct impedes the progress of other participants or the goals of the workshop, will result in immediate dismissal from the workshop. 10. Workshop participants understand that the Workshop is dynamic and may involve changes in class schedules or activities based on the flow and pace of the program. The Participant agrees to remain flexible and adapt to any modifications made by the instructors or coordinators. Acceptance of Terms By signing below, the Participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined in this contract. The Participant further agrees to abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the Sankofa Film Institute and understands that failure to do so may result in dismissal from the Workshop.
