Welcome to the Sankofa Film Institute’s "Around the Fire”, Immersion Workshop, to be held from January 12, 2025, to February 22, 2025. The terms below outline the conditions of your participation in the Workshop. 1. A seat in the program is not secured until full payment of tuition is received. Students may be dismissed for failure to remit full tuition payment. 2. Tuition covers the costs related to coursework only. Tuition does not cover food, accommodations, transportation, or any other personal expenses incurred by the student related to participation in the Workshop. 3. The tuition paid by the Participant is non-refundable, regardless of attendance, withdrawal, or dismissal. If you withdraw or are dismissed from the Workshop you are not entitled to acceptance into a future SFI Workshop or credit to cover the cost of attending a future Workshop. 4. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated, and may result in removal from the Workshop. Workshop participants must sign and adhere to the SFI Code of Conduct and Sexual Harassment Policy (enclosed). A signed Image Release and Liability Waiver is also required for participation in the Workshop (enclosed). 5. The Workshop will take place in Washington D.C. and Baltimore areas. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from these locations. SFI will not cover the cost of any associated accommodation expenses or any unforeseen expenses. 6. Participants are required to take care of all resources provided by SFI during the Workshop, including, but not limited to, camera equipment, lighting equipment, sound equipment, and classroom facilities. The Participant will use the equipment and resources responsibly and return them in the same condition as received. 7. Unless explicitly permitted by the instructors or coordinators, no recording (audio, video, or otherwise) is allowed during the Workshop. The Participant may request permission for filming in specific cases where it is necessary, and must abide by the instructions provided by the Workshop administration. Acceptance of Terms By signing below, the Participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined above.
